About Sweet Pea Studio
Hello! My name is Alexandra and I am the Artist behind Sweet Pea Studio. I create artwork entirely of pressed flowers in celebration of Nature's beauty. My process includes growing, harvesting, and sourcing local flowers, pressing them in our handmade presses, and transforming them into works of art.
It is a slow, cyclical, and fallible process that holds so much beauty and magic.
Original pieces are made with the real pressed flowers. You can see and feel their texture, and will inevitably change over time. This is a beautiful process to witness: bright florals begin to soften and fade, sometimes over weeks or years. Framing pieces behind a UV protectant glass can slow down this process.
Many of my original have been professionally photographed in order to make Giclée fine art reproductions. These prints are an art piece in and of themselves, and will last well over a life-time. They closely capture the texture, detail, and colours of the original piece in the peak of its vibrancy.
