This piece is a botanical version of Michelangelo's iconic hands extended out towards one another- which is part of a larger piece painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
During the creation of this piece, I deliberated for quite a while over whether or not I wanted to add the green thyme or pink alyssum flowers to this piece seeing as the silver-lace (which turns a tan colour when pressed) worked so well to capture the form and shape of the hands.
I ultimately decided that my goal was not merely to reproduce this classic piece, but rather to express it in a new way- that being through nature, in all her colour and wilderness.
You will receive a Giclée print of my original made of pressed wildflowers and botanicals. Giclée prints are of the highest quality and do an excellent job capturing the colour and texture of the flowers.
All prints are made to order. Once you place your order please allow for 2 business days for printing.
